I've re-written and I am re-drawing this webcomic. it started updating last week. I have a fairly large buffer this time.

I submitted 2 comics about Cat, Mouse, Bunny and Wolf to zine anthology/magazines. I'll be able to give you more info later.

I'm making my own zine about space .. for drawing practice. (and because I met up with some amazing zine makers and it made me want to make my own.)

Hourly Comics Day 2012 .. I last did this in 2009 and then in 2010 I did the Angouleme 24 hour comics thing ... so yeh, slowly getting better at duration comicing. I didn't do either in 2011 because I went to Angouleme when I was in a mad panic to get stuff ready for print at uni. just couldn't schedule in one of these crazy challenges.

Ok, so this new comic project isn't going to be a webcomic because of lots of reasons that I can't be bothered to explain but I am going to be posting design, development work and preview pages as I work on it. I've chosen a format and page count for the story and the challenge is to work around that and design it for print not weekly web consumption.

These characters are Jo and Emma the main characters with Jo's brother who still doesn't have a name. I posted them around a bit last night and people keep suggesting I call him Dave. I am not calling him Dave.

err I don't really have much else to say about it at this stage. But yeh, thats what I'm working on.

Ghostpoet - Garden Path

"I just hide behind Joseph's swagger."

I actually have a pretty solid playlist/mix tape for this comic. that doesn't happen often.

(sorry youtube video wont embed properly *shrugs*)

I can't believe its been a week since Thought Bubble already. I've spent the whole week wondering why its night time all of a sudden. but yeh, I wanted to tell you all how awesome it was.

I went with Sarah, Lily and Shaz from Inspired. We took all our old anthologies and our new Science Fiction Octuple Feature.

And I saw Ink+Paper for the first time in print. its really awesome. I love how it feels like reading an annual. when I was a kid the only comics I had were in annuals along with prose and recipes and craft things.

err and it was great to meet Graham and Beth for the first time and then see lots of great friends who have been at the same events since I started going to cons. I bought lots of new comics, mostly anthologies or newspaper format stuff so I could get little comics from lots of people. I've not read them all yet, I'm trying to make them last till christmas.

Thank you very much anyone who bought something from our table.

Actually a lot of people had said all weekend that sales were slow. and while we were there I thought they were being kinda slow on our table to. I've had better events were I'd nearly sold out of my comic within 1 day. but when we did the maths at the end of the weekend we actually took the most money as a table than ever before. It was difficult to tell because we had largely sold postcards and smaller comics.

I was kinda disappointed with myself before Thought Bubble because I realised my only book Best Day Ever is now around 2 years old and 1 year old in print form. I felt a bit stupid that I'd not managed to arrange anything new or better when I'd planned to go to Thought Bubble so far in advanced.

so I'm starting plans for something new in print for next time so this doesn't happen again. there should be new anthology plans too. I love doing anthology short stories, 4-10 pages is my favourite length to write for I think.

I'm actually really pleased with this page. I dunno why it turned out so much better than the other pages I've drawn recently. I think it might be a change in attitude.

This week has sent my stomach churning the whole way though. I'll probably be jumping around shouting about things next week, because I'm still in a state of complete disbelief and I'm paranoid I might have heard the wrong thing down the phone or something. Normally in this kinda situation I'd double check a document or something, but I don't have any yet. I am starting to think that I'm so desperate for a job that maybe I developed some kinda mental illness or I imagined the phone call entirely.

but there are plenty of things look forward to and be thankful for, so I'll celebrate those instead of complaining all the time ...

I don't think I've blogged about this but Sarah Burgess drew my character Mark from BDE/JTS at a party in her Blake Sinclair comic. SOOOO awesome. I love Sarah's comics. They're kinda similar to the comics I draw cause they're slice of life/hipster stories about friends and things. so yeh, if thats why you're reading my comics/blog you need to check them outttt.

I'm really excited about the new inspired book. I've just ok-ed the pdf proof so we'll get to see them in about a week. within plenty of time for thought bubble. I'll be doing previews and news every week and I'll make sure to take some book photos :)

There's a lot of new sneak peeks on the Ink+Paper blog (including some panels from my comic which I've not posted online before). It's going to be a really chunky full colour book, sooooo exciting. I've been collecting mini comics and things by a lot of the other creators for years, so I still can't really believe my comic will be in the same book.

Sorry this is from wedensday morning - I was pretty stressed and busy so I forgot to post it here too. you got it eventually anyway ...

more colouring fun. todays page is from Bex's Strangers and Friends. you can read it online here or buy a printed version from the sweatdrop website. I wanted it to have a very warm pallet ... which was more difficult than I had expected when I started colouring ^^;

I really do love all of the pages I've had the oppertunity to colour. so many awesome friends that make really great webcomics.

errr yeh, my aunt has moved to way off on a distant mountain somewhere. which makes my family all very sad.

new character, new character ....

Aaanndd the last bit of news is that the Inspired website just updated with lots of great things that my friends have drawn. can't believe its October already. @_@

mmm sent me to sleep last night. then I got earworms. but its a good song so I don't mind.
